Millions Rally Nationwide in “No Kings” Protest Against Trump Administration
On June 14, 2025—Flag Day and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday—millions of Americans took to the streets in a sweeping protest dubbed the “No Kings” rally. Organized by the 50501 Movement (representing 50 states, 50 protests, one movement), the demonstrations spanned over 1,500 locations across the country, making it one of the largest coordinated protests of Trump’s second term.
The rallies were timed to coincide with a lavish military parade in Washington, D.C., celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. Protesters viewed the event as a symbol of authoritarianism and government overreach. “The flag doesn’t belong to President Trump. It belongs to us,” read a statement on the No Kings website.
In many other cities like Sacramento, thousands gathered peacefully, waving signs and chanting slogans in defense of democracy, immigrant rights, and civil liberties. Speakers included activists, clergy, and community leaders who criticized policies they say target marginalized communities and enrich the wealthy at the expense of working Americans.
