Back to San Jose

It was likely the summer of 1987. KSJO radio station held a contest for a new song about San Jose. So I created this rock’ n’ roll tune “Back to San Jose”. It was placed in the top ten songs. I was thrilled to hear it as they played the song on air. I was actually driving through downtown San Jose at the time! I was then asked to play with the other contestants at a local nightclub, Spoons. But, the fix was in! While there were several good songs the winner was a group of school kids conducted by their teacher. They couldn’t even perform as they were too young to be in a bar. Well, that’s Rock’ n’ Roll!
